East Jerusalem: The Jerusalem Municipality prefers National Parks to neighborhoods for the Palestinian residents of the city
Bimkomhas released a new report: "From Public to National – National Parks in East Jerusalem." The report is an in-depth, first of its kind, investigation of existing and planned national parks in East Jerusalem.

These national parks are at different stages of planning and implementation, but, according to the report, their conglomeration points toward a new trend: the designation of areas as national parks instead of open and public ones has become a tool for limiting the development of the Palestinian neighborhoods of Jerusalem.

Alternative Master Plan for all the Unrecognized Bedouin villages

The Regional Council for the Unrecognized Villages and Bimkom have been working  on an alternative Master Plan for all the Bedouin villages. Such a plan would provide a basis for a viable development of the region, as a whole, while maintaining the principles of equality, recognition and justice.

Outline Planning for Arab Localities in Israel
A new report by Bimkom and the Arab Center for Alternative Planning reveals systematic discrimination of the planning institutions against Arab communities.

The report offers an updated, systematic review of the planning situation in Arab communities in Israel for the first time. The report reviews the status of outline plans for 119 Arab communities with a total population of approximately 950,000 residents, and includes a comparison of the planning solutions offered in Arab and Jewish localities with similar characteristics.
