Human Rights in Gaza and Israel During the Hostilities
In light of the fighting in Gaza and in Israel, Israeli human rights groups, including Bimkom, are working together to inform the public of the impact on civilians, particularly regarding events that are not reported by the media.
The Planning Rights Project aims to advance equality and social justice in the fields of planning and development, and seeks to challenge the existing reality in order to bring about the development of a more democratic, open and transparent planning system – a system that promotes distributive justice with regard to land and other public resources, that meets the special needs of different communities, and that respects the rights of all sections of the population.
News Release: Israeli Supreme Court Orders State to Explain Gaza Civilian Policy
Friday, January 9, 2009: In a hearing in two court petitions submitted by human rights groups in Israel, including Bimkom, the Supreme Court ordered the state to explain why it was delaying permitting evacuation of those wounded in Gaza, and why it was not permitting electricity supply to Gaza's crumbling infrastructure.
